Ingredients
- 2 1/4 c. cornmeal
- 1/3 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 c. finely minced onion
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 3/4 tsp. soda
Method
- In a medium bowl measure cornmeal, salt, garlic salt and onion.
- In a large measuring cup measure buttermilk and add soda. Stir and let set for a couple of minutes.
- Then stir into cornmeal.
- Heat oil to 375°.
- Drop by tablespoons into hot oil. Fry only a few at a time, turning once.
- Cook 3 to 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
