Ingredients
- 2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
Method
- Heat 1-inch vegetable oil to 375°.
- Mix cornmeal, salt, onion and baking soda.
- Stir in buttermilk.
- Drop by spoonfuls into the hot oil.
- Fry until brown, approximately 2 minutes.
