Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. dry yeast
- 2 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. honey
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. oil
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 8 c. whole wheat flour
Method
- Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixing bowl.
- Scald milk and mix in oil, honey, molasses and salt.
- When milk is cool, add to yeast and stir.
- Stir in flour, a bit at a time.
- Turn out on floured board and knead.
- Let rise in covered bowl until doubled. Punch down.
- Separate into 2 or 3
- loaves and shape loaves.
- Let rise in bread pans 30 to 40 minutes.
- Bake at 425° for 12 minutes, then at 350° for 30 minutes.
