Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 (15 oz.) can garbanzos (chickpeas)
  • 1/2 c. tahini paste
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • pinch of coriander
  • salt to taste
  • pita bread, warmed and cut into triangles

Method

  • Mince garlic in food processor.
  • Add garbanzos, tahini, lemon juice, water, olive oil, salt and cumin.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Add lemon juice or water if too thick.
  • Transfer to serving dish and garnish with olives, chopped red onion and chopped tomato.
  • Use pita triangles for dipping.
