Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced, separated into rings
  • 1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chiles, drained
  • 1 piece French bread (12 inch), cut lengthwise in half
  • 4 OSCAR MAYER Selects Uncured Angus Beef Franks, partially cut lengthwise in half
  • 4 KRAFT Big Slice Pepper Jack Cheese Slices
  • 1/2 red pepper, cut into strips

Method

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat.
  • Add onions; cook 4 min.
  • or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in chiles.
  • Hollow out insides of bread halves, leaving 1/2-inch-thick shells.
  • Discard removed bread or reserve for another use.
  • (See Tip.)
  • Place franks in bottom half of bread.
  • Top with 2 cheese slices, red peppers and onion mixture; cover with remaining cheese slices and top of bread.
  • Wrap in foil.
  • Bake 20 min.
  • or until sandwich is heated through and cheese is melted.
