Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sour cherries (1 can, pitted)
- 1/4 c. juice from cherries
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk.
- Pour into a buttered baking dish.
- Combine and heat cherries, juice and 1/4 cup sugar.
- Pour over batter.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve hot with cream.
- Serves 6.
