Ingredients
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 egg, well beaten
- plain flour
Method
- In bowl, put sugar, salt and lukewarm water and mix well.
- Add yeast cake.
- Blend in shortening and egg.
- Add enough sifted, plain flour to make a soft dough.
- Store in refrigerator.
- Punch out and shape into rolls as needed.
- Let rolls rise and bake at 450° until brown.
- Dough should stay in refrigerator at least 6 hours before using.
