Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 8 whole eggs
  • 1 pt. half and half
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 gal. milk

Method

  • Put sugar in a large bowl, beat eggs well and add to sugar, add half and half, add vanilla and blend well with a fork after each addition.
  • Add about half of the milk, blend with electric mixer on low.
  • Add rest of the milk, except about 1/2 cup; blend.
  • Pour into freezer bucket.
  • Use the balance of the milk to "rinse" out the bowl and add to mixture in freezer and stir good.
  • Freeze according to freezer directions.
  • Makes 1 gallon.
  • Best to use 6 quart freezer.
  • Any type fruit can be added to this basic recipe.
