Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 5 c. flour

Method

  • Heat first four ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
  • Let cool until warm.
  • Mix yeast, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and water separately. After yeast is dissolved, add to margarine mixture.
  • Then add egg and 4 cups flour.
  • Mix good, then add 1 more cup flour.
  • Let rise until double.
  • Stir down, chill (4 to 5 hours).
  • Put 3 teaspoons of dough per muffin cup in muffin pan.
  • Dip in melted margarine before putting in pan, let rise.
  • Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
