Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wild Rice
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/2 whole Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 1 whole Red Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Chopped
  • 6 ounces, weight Green Beans, Cut Into 1" Peices
  • 1 pound Turkey Breasts, Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Homemade Hoisin Sauce (see Below) Or To Taste
  • 4 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons White Vingear
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Unsalted Unsweetened Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Bean Flour (or Another Tablespoon Of Peanut Butter)
  • 18 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons Red Chili Sauce Such As Sriracha Or To Taste

Method

  • Start with the wild rice.
  • Bring the water to a boil, add the uncooked wild rice and a pinch of salt.
  • Return to a boil, reduce the heat to medium low and simmer until all of the water is absorbed.
  • It took my wild rice about 1 hour and 20 minutes to cook.
  • Add all ingredients for hoisin sauce to blender and blend until smooth and combined.
  • Set aside.
  • While rice is cooking, chop vegetables and meat.
  • When rice is about halfway finished, begin preparing the stir fry.
  • Saute onion 8 to 10 minutes in sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add bell pepper, saute 4 minutes covered.
  • Add the chopped turkey and brown the meat 1 minute.
  • Add green beans, saute 68 minutes covered until green beans have softened but still have a nice al dente texture.
  • Add 34 tablespoons hoisin sauce or to taste.
  • Check meat to be sure it is cooked all the way through.
  • If necessary, continue to cook until meat is finished.
  • Serve in bowls with wild rice.
