Ingredients
- 2 whole Eggs
- 4 Tablespoons Fine Grain Sugar
- 2 cups Milk, Divided
- 4 cups Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 3 teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
- 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- In small bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar and half of the milk.
- Pour into a large bowl and, with a wooden spoon, stir in flour. Mix well. Add in remaining milk. Stir in baking soda, cream of tartar and lastly, melted butter.
- Mix until all ingredients are just incorporated. Do not beat until smooth.
- Dollop evenly onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with tea, warm butter and jam.
