Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. stew beef
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 c. water
  • 2 c. diced carrots
  • 1/4 c. uncooked macaroni
  • 1 can whole kernel corn
  • cooked vegetables to taste

Method

  • Brown stew beef in fat.
  • Add salt, pepper, chopped onion, tomatoes, water and bay leaf.
  • Bring to a boil and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
  • Add carrots and macaroni.
  • Simmer 30 minutes, then add corn and any cooked vegetables you desire.
  • Do not drain vegetables; juices are used in broth.
