Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 2 c. diced potatoes (optional)
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1/4 c. barley or rice
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 6 c. water
Method
- Brown hamburger and onion evenly.
- Add tomatoes, carrots, celery, barley or rice and seasonings.
- Add water.
- Cover; simmer for about 1 hour.
- Add potatoes (optional); cook until tender.
