Ingredients

  • 1 (5 lb.) canned ham
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. ice water

Method

  • Bake ham for 1 hour at 325°.
  • Mix together flour, salt and margarine; lightly beat salad oil and egg.
  • Blend into flour mixture, using 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Stir in ice water until dough forms a ball.
  • Wrap dough in waxed paper.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Cool ham slightly; roll dough 12 x 16 x 1/8-inch thick around ham.
  • Place on a baking sheet; pierce with a fork.
  • Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
  • Serve with cranberry-orange relish in cups made from orange rind.
