Ingredients

  • 12 slices firm white bread, crusts removed (not fresh)
  • 12 thinly cut boiled ham or regular ham
  • 1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 lb. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3 c. milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Method

  • Arrange in layers the bread and ham; then sprinkle with both cheeses.
  • Repeat another layer of the same ingredients.
  • Beat with a hand beater the milk, eggs, onion salt and dry mustard.
  • Pour entire mixture over the top layer.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Take dish out of fridge 1 hour before baking.
  • Crushed corn flakes should be sprinkled over top before putting into oven.
  • Preheat oven to 375° and bake for 45 minutes.
