Ingredients
- 12 slices firm white bread, crusts removed (not fresh)
- 12 thinly cut boiled ham or regular ham
- 1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb. shredded Swiss cheese
- 3 c. milk
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Method
- Arrange in layers the bread and ham; then sprinkle with both cheeses.
- Repeat another layer of the same ingredients.
- Beat with a hand beater the milk, eggs, onion salt and dry mustard.
- Pour entire mixture over the top layer.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Take dish out of fridge 1 hour before baking.
- Crushed corn flakes should be sprinkled over top before putting into oven.
- Preheat oven to 375° and bake for 45 minutes.
