Ingredients

  • 2 c. chopped cooked ham
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper (optional)
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 c. grated cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 can Butter-Me-Not canned biscuits

Method

  • Melt margarine; cook onion, pepper, flour, milk and soup together in melted margarine.
  • Put chopped ham in casserole (9 x 13-inch); sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • Pour cooked mixture over ham.
  • Split biscuits in half (stretch as much as possible without tearing up); place on top.
  • Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. When it becomes bubbly, sprinkle with a cup of grated cheese and return to oven until cheese melts.
