Ingredients

  • 1 cup of thinly sliced fresh coconut
  • 2 tablespoon of channa
  • 6 small green chillies, chopped
  • 6-8 sprigs of fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 inch of ginger
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup of sour yogurt
  • For Tadka/ Tempering
  • 1 tsp each of mustard seeds, urad dal, 5-6 fresh curry leaves and few pieces of dried red chilli.

Method

  • Put coconut, chana, green chillies, coriander, ginger and salt in the grinder and grind it to a fine paste.
  • Add 2 tablespoon water or a little more if necessary.
  • Put it in a bowl.
  • Whisk the curd and add it to the grinded paste in the bowl.
  • For the tadka.
  • In a small pan add 2 tablespoon of oil and after it gets heated add the mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Then add the uard daal and red chillies and the curry leaves.
  • After the uard daal has turned a bit brown take it off the heat and add it to the mixture in the bowl.
  • Mix it.
  • Serve
