Ingredients

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 pint grape tomatoes, halved
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Method

  • Cook beans in boiling salted water 8 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. Plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat 6 to 7 minutes or until butter begins to brown. Add green beans, and saute until tender. Stir in grape tomatoes and remaining ingredients. Serve immediately.
