Ingredients

  • 4 c. green apples
  • 2 c. molasses
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. each suitable spices
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. raisins

Method

  • Slice apples and boil in the 2 cups of molasses.
  • Cook this away to 1/2 the quantity.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together and add eggs and milk.
  • Sift flour with spices and soda.
  • Add to this the raisins.
  • Add apples last.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes (time approximate, check often).
  • Use 2 loaf pans. This cake will keep for 1 month.
