Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. dates, chopped
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cream egg and sugar.
  • Add milk.
  • Mix flour, baking powder and salt; add dates and pecans.
  • Then add to creamed mixture.
  • Bake in 13 x 9-inch pan at 325° for about 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and center springs back.
  • Cool in pan and cut into bars about 1 x 3-inch.
  • Roll in powdered sugar.
