Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or oleo
- 6 egg yolks, beaten
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. canned evaporated milk
- 2 c. chopped nuts
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. flour
- 46 graham crackers, ground or 4 c. ground graham cracker crumbs
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 6 egg whites, beaten stiff
Method
- Cream butter and sugar; stir in egg yolks.
- Mix baking powder and flour; add to graham crackers.
- Add flour mixture to butter mixture, a little at a time, with milk and water.
- Add nuts and vanilla.
- Fold in egg whites.
- Bake in a 375° oven for 30 to 35 minutes in greased and floured 9-inch pans.
