Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened, plus extra for serving if desired
- 14 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 14 cups flour
- 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup mashed overripe banana
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan.
- Combine cream cheese, butter and sugar until well blended.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda.
- Add dry ingredients to cream cheese mixture.
- Mix in eggs and bananas until just moistened.
- Fold in nuts (if you are using them).
- Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Serve with softened cream cheese.
