Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage head
  • 1 large Spanish onion or any mild onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3/4 c. Wesson oil

Method

  • Shred cabbage, onion and pepper together.
  • Sprinkle sugar and salt on top.
  • Bring vinegar, celery seed, mustard and oil to boil and pour over vegetables.
  • Cover and refrigerate 6 to 8 hours. Stir, then serve.
  • This keeps well for several days in the refrigerator.
