Ingredients

  • 1 (3 lb.) boneless beef rump roast
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c. dry red wine
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. instant beef bouillon
  • 1/4 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. carrots, cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen green beans
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • nonstick spray coating

Method

  • Spray a cold Dutch oven with nonstick spray coating, then preheat over medium heat.
  • Brown roast on both sides in Dutch oven; drain any fat.
  • Add water, wine, onion, garlic, bouillon, thyme and pepper.
  • Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
