Ingredients

  • 1lb scallops
  • 3 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tsp 5 spice powder
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 small red chili pepper, seeded & finely chopped
  • 2 TBSP soy sauce
  • 1 TBSP rice wine (Mirin)
  • 2 TBSP vegetable oil
  • 3 TBSP water
  • 1cup mizuna

Method

  • Place scallops in shallow non-metal bowl.
  • Combine garlic, 5 spice powder, ginger, chili pepper, soy sauce & mirin and pour over scallops.
  • Cover a Saran Wrap & refrigerate 30 mins.
  • Drain scallops, reserving marinade.
  • Preheat grill a oil.
  • Grill 2-3 mins each side.
  • Remove.
  • Add water to reserve marinade & boil 1 min.
  • Drizzle a marinade.
  • Serve a mizuna.
  • Serves 2.
