Ingredients
- 4 qt. cucumbers
- 4 medium onions, chopped
- 1/3 c. salt
- 3 c. vinegar
- 5 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
Method
- Cover cucumbers, onions and salt with ice; let soak 3 hours. Pour off water. Mix remaining ingredients. Add cucumbers and onions to vinegar mixture. Bring to a boil.
- Boil 5 or 10 minutes. Fill hot jars and add 1 clove garlic, 1 sprig dill or 1 teaspoon dill seed. Seal jars and let stand for a few days.
