Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground round steak
  • 2 c. crushed cornflakes
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 c. spaghetti sauce

Method

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except spaghetti sauce; mix until well blended. Form into 6 patties, 1/2-inch thick. In a large skillet over medium heat, place 2 tablespoons olive or peanut oil and cook meat patties until brown on both sides. Add spaghetti sauce and simmer on low heat 15 to 20 minutes. Let sit in skillet 10 to 15 minutes before serving. Serves 6.
