Ingredients

  • 1 qt. cabbage, chopped
  • 3/4 c. carrots, chopped
  • 3/4 c. green pepper
  • 1/2 c. onion
  • 3/4 c. vinegar
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed

Method

  • Chop cabbage, carrots, green pepper and onion; combine vegetables in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a tight lid fitted jar, mix vinegar, sugar, salt and spices.
  • Shake well and pour over vegetables, tossing until well coated.
  • Refrigerate, covered, about 2 hours before serving.
  • Makes 6 to 8 servings.
