Ingredients
- 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1/3 c. packed light brown sugar
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/3 c. chopped walnuts
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Lightly grease an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.
- In large bowl, stir together the cocoa and water; let stand for 5 minutes.
- Stir in oil, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg whites and vanilla.
- Add the baking powder, salt and flour and stir for 2 minutes.
- Fold in nuts, then pour the mixture into the pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool.
- Cut into 2-inch squares. Makes 16 brownies.
