Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 oz. chocolate
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Method

  • Cream butter until soft and gradually add sugar.
  • Blend until creamy.
  • Beat in the egg yolks.
  • Melt the chocolate over hot water and when slightly cool, add to mixture.
  • Add flour gradually; add vanilla.
  • Whip the egg whites until stiff.
  • Add salt and fold into the first mixture.
  • Bake in a slow oven, 325°, for 30 minutes. Serve the pie topped with a scoop of ice cream.
