Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 c. dates, chopped
- 1 c. apple, finely chopped
Method
- Soften cream cheese; add milk and lemon juice.
- Beat until smooth.
- Stir in fruit and spread on breads.
- For teas or special occasions, alternate layers of wheat and white bread until there are three pieces of bread with filling between.
- Chill in refrigerator for about 30 minutes, then cut with decorative cutters.
- To keep sandwiches fresh, cover with slightly damp white paper towel, then with plastic wrap.
