Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 can pie filling (cherry or blueberry)

Method

  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Add the eggs.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Stir in flour and baking powder.
  • Mix until smooth.
  • Grease a 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
  • Spoon pie filling into the cake in 16 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls evenly in each direction and bake.
  • Flip cake on serving plate.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  • This is great served warm.
