Ingredients
- 1 medium head cabbage
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 sweet pepper, chopped
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1/4 c. water
Method
- Grate cabbage.
- Add salt and let stand for 1 hour.
- Squeeze juice out.
- Add carrot, pepper and onion.
- Make a syrup of vinegar, water and sugar.
- Add mustard and celery seed.
- Boil 1 minute. Pour over cabbage and mix well.
- Put in containers and freeze.
- This slaw can be refrozen several times.
- Do not use blender.
