Ingredients
- 1 block tofu (medium or firm)
- 1/4 c. vegetables, thinly sliced carrots, celery and onion
- 1 1/2 c. dashi broth, made from "dashi no moto" as directed on pkg.
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- cornstarch
- oil for deep frying

- Sauce:
- Boil the
- dashi
- broth with carrots, celery and
- onion
- until the vegetables are tenderly cooked. Add soy sauce and thicken it with a little cornstarch (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) mixed with about 2 tablespoons water.
