Ingredients
- 1 qt. shredded cabbage
- 1/2 c. shredded green pepper
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. canned pimento
- 2 c. water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. mustard seed
- 1 c. thinly sliced celery
Method
- Soak cabbage, green pepper and pimento in the water and salt. Leave for 1/2 hour. Bring to boil sugar, vinegar, water and mustard seed to make a syrup; cool. Drain cabbage; add celery and combine with syrup. Refrigerate at least 24 hours before serving. Keeps in refrigerator for 2 weeks or can be frozen.
