Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 tall can (14 1/2 oz.) evaporated milk
  • 2 lb. sugar (4 1/2 c.)
  • 1/2 lb. marshmallows
  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 pkg. (6 oz. each) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 pkg. (4 oz. each) sweet chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 c. chopped nuts

Method

  • Combine butter, canned milk and sugar in a large heavy saucepan or Dutch oven.
  • Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  • Cook to a boil; cover and boil 5 minutes.
  • Turn off heat.
  • Add marshmallows; stir until melted.
  • Add 3 kinds of chocolate, one at a time, stirring until melted.
  • Add vanilla extract and nuts; blend.
  • Pour into buttered pan (jelly roll), 10 x 15-inch, and let stand until firm before cutting in 1-inch squares.
  • Whole pecan halves can be pressed into tops of squares if you wish!
