Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 2 heaping tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. orange juice
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond
  • 1 lb. cherries
  • 1 lb. pineapple
  • 1 qt. nuts, cut up
  • 1 grated coconut

Method

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Add egg yolks one at a time.
  • Add 2 cups flour to baking powder alternately with orange juice.
  • Save 1 cup flour to mix with fruit.
  • Beat egg whites and add last with coconut.
  • Bake at 325° for approximately 2 hours.
  • Make 2 cakes in tube pan or 2 loaf cakes.
