Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. stew meat
- carrots
- large can tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. red cooking wine
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts (optional)
- quartered potatoes
- onions
- scant Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. quick dry tapioca
Method
- In covered Dutch oven pan, combine meat, potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes, salt, sugar, tapioca and red wine.
- Place in 300° oven with lid on for 5 hours.
- Do not stir.
