Ingredients

  • 2-4 filet mignons
  • olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper
  • garlic powder
  • butter
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 T sherry wine
  • prepared pub-style horseradish cream sauce

Method

  • Slice onion very thin. Heat butter and olive oil in pan. Add onions. Simmer on low for 1 hour.
  • Season filets with salt, pepper, garlic powder and olive oil on both sides. Sear filets on both sides on hot grill pan. Place filets in preheated oven for desired doneness.
  • After simmering onions for 1 hour, raise heat to med-high. Stir onions untill they reach carmel color. Add wine and a dash of salt. Simmer low 5 mins.
  • Serve carmelized onions over filet with horseradish cream sauce on the side.
