Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hot dogs, sliced
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 c. minced green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 lb. macaroni
  • 3 c. milk or 1 1/2 c. dry milk plus 3 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 3 c. grated American cheese

Method

  • Saute hog dogs, onion and green pepper in margarine until onion is soft.
  • Cook macaroni in boiling water.
  • Drain.
  • Add to hot dog mixture.
  • Stir in milk, salt and thyme.
  • Stir in tomato sauce and 2 1/2 cups of cheese.
  • Pour into 4-quart ovenproof dish.
  • Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
  • Top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake 10 minutes longer.
