Ingredients
- 1 lb. hot dogs, sliced
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/2 c. minced green pepper
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 lb. macaroni
- 3 c. milk or 1 1/2 c. dry milk plus 3 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 3 c. grated American cheese
Method
- Saute hog dogs, onion and green pepper in margarine until onion is soft.
- Cook macaroni in boiling water.
- Drain.
- Add to hot dog mixture.
- Stir in milk, salt and thyme.
- Stir in tomato sauce and 2 1/2 cups of cheese.
- Pour into 4-quart ovenproof dish.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Bake 10 minutes longer.
