Ingredients

  • 3 lb. lean hamburger
  • 1 large or 2 small onions
  • 2 cans tomato puree (10 1/4 oz.)
  • 2 cans pizza sauce (10 oz.)
  • 1 1/2 c. sliced, chopped pepperoni
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms, chopped into large hunks (canned mushrooms may be used)
  • dash of garlic salt
  • dash of onion salt
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • In large pan, cook hamburger and onion over medium heat, slowly, until hamburger is no longer red.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve over spaghetti.
  • This is a rich, thick spaghetti sauce and leftover sauce is excellent served on hamburger buns for an unusual type Sloppy Joe sandwich.
  • Freezes well.
