Ingredients

  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 to 6 (about 2 c.) ripe bananas
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cream butter, sugar, eggs and bananas and beat until blended.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch and salt, and add alternately with sour cream to banana mixture.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Add nuts.
  • Bake in a greased, floured pan, large loaf 55 minutes; 2 small loaves, 45 minutes.
