Ingredients

  • 1 (32 oz.) pkg. hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 1/2 stick butter or oleo, softened
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. grated American or sharp cheese
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) sour cream
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 c. corn flakes, crushed (for top)
  • 1/2 stick melted butter or oleo (for top)

Method

  • Mix potatoes, soup, 1/2 stick melted butter or oleo, sour cream, grated cheese, onion, salt and pepper.
  • Mix; place in 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  • Top with crushed corn flakes.
  • Pour melted butter over and bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes at 350°.
