Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups Margarine Or Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Corn Syrup (can Be Replaced With Any Maple/corn Flavored Syrups, Including Honey)
  • 3 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
  • 4 cups Oatmeal
  • 6 ounces, weight Chocolate
  • 2/3 cups Peanut Butter

Method

  • For the base:
  • Cream margarine/butter and sugar. Add the corn syrup, vanilla extract and oatmeal, making sure they're all blended together well.
  • Press into the bottom of a lined or well greased 9x13 pan.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool slightly.
  • For the topping:
  • Melt together the chocolate and peanut butter. When the oatmeal base is warm (not HOT), drizzle on the chocolate-peanut butter mixture, making sure to coat the whole surface evenly.
  • Let cool, but slice into bars/squares/triangles, whatever suits your fancy BEFORE it gets totally cold. It'll be easier to slice before the whole thing hardens.
  • Freezes well. Keeps in the fridge for weeks as well!
