Ingredients
- Pie crust
- 3 squares of unsweetened chocolate
- 1 stick butter
- 4 eggs
- 3 T. Karo syrup
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
- Bake the pie shell for 5 minutes. Melt the chocolate and butter in a pan over hot water. Let cool slightly. In bowl, lightly beat 4 eggs. Add Karo syrup, sugar, salt and vanilla.
- Add the chocoalte mixture to the egg mixture and mix well. Pour into the pie crust. Bake 25-30 minutes at 350. It should have a bit of crust on the top and appear to be just a little soft in the middle. Cool on a rack; the pie will settle as it cools. Best served a little warm with ice cream on top!
