Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. water
- cornmeal
Method
- Stir flour, sugar, yeast and baking soda together.
- Heat 2 cups of milk and 1/4 cup water.
- Add to dry mixture; beat well. Stir in enough flour to make stiff batter (about 2 1/4 cups).
- May substitute wheat flour here, if preferred.
- Spoon into 2 greased pans dusted with cornmeal.
- Let rise for 45 minutes.
- Bake at 400° for 25 minutes, until well brown.
