- 1/4 c. salad oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 to 2 cloves garlic
- 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. chili powder
- 6 corn tortillas
- 1 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
Method
- Heat oil.
- Add onion and garlic.
- Saute until golden brown. Add meat and brown.
- Sprinkle flour over meat and onion.
- Add tomato sauce, water, vinegar, chili powder, salt and pepper. Simmer 20 minutes.
- Line greased casserole with some sauce.
- Add tortilla and top with grated cheese and sauce.
- Repeat another layer.
- Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
