Ingredients

  • 48 (approximately) saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 oz White baking chocolate
  • 1 tsp shortening

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In small saucepan, bring butter and sugar to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Meanwhile, line a 15x10x1" baking pan with heavy duty aluminum foil.
  • Place crackers salt side down in foil.
  • Pour butter and sugar mixture over crackers and bake 8 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with chocolate chips and bake 5 minutes longer or until chocolate chips begin to soften.
  • With metal spatula, smooth chocolate chips over top.
  • ***The chips will not melt, just get warm and gooey.
  • They will be soft enough to spread over the cracker base.

  • Melt white chocolate and shortening.
  • Drizzle over chocolate.
  • Chill 20 minutes and break into pieces.
