Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast
- 2 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 5 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
- Cream shortening, and sugar together.
- Add beaten egg, 2 cups warm water, salt and yeast. Add flour.
- Put dough in greased bowl and grease on top of dough. Cover and put in refrigerator.
- When ready to use, take out as needed.
- Let rise 3 hours.
- Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
