Ingredients

  • 1 (6 to 8 lb.) boneless chuck roast (frozen)
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1 to 2 small cans mushroom steak sauce/gravy
  • salt
  • pepper
  • seasoned salt

Method

  • Place roast (frozen okay) in 9 x 13-inch or larger pan.
  • Use salt, pepper and seasoned salt as desired.
  • Sprinkle onion soup mix over top.
  • Pour mushroom sauce over top of roast and in pan.
  • Rinse can with water and pour in bottom of pan.
  • Cover with foil.
  • Bake 6 to 7 hours at 325° if frozen, less if not frozen (test for doneness after 4 hours).
  • Use juice for gravy.
